Gimme Some Sugar (9/3 – 9/4)

Summer is ending (though the weather is just warming up) and we send it off with a month of Disney’s finest. This weekend we’ve got a whimsical nanny with a penchant for showtunes as well as an arrogant Llama with a penchant for whining. Friday hang on to your umbrellas as we float through a magical world of singing chimney sweeps, dancing penguins and laughing accountants in “Mary Poppins”. Saturday we join an obnoxious prince who ends up four legged and furry after a failed overthrow attempt by his vile advisor and her squirrel loving muscle bound assistant in “The Emperors New Groove”. It’s getting darker sooner, so until further notice Movies start at 8:00p.

Fight the Power (8/27 – 8/28)

This week we learn that kids are powerful, especially in large numbers and when armed with explosives and onion hating poisonous lizards. Hey Vern, Friday we use native magic and parachuting snapping turtles to battle an evil developer intent on running us out of town in “Ernest Goes to Camp”.  Saturday we’re shackled to a juvenielle chain gang and forced to search for buried treasure in an unforgiving, but mystical desert in “Holes”.  Movies Start at 8:30pm

Summer Camp (8/20 – 8/21)

Wave goodbye to the folks and cram some s’mores in your face, this week we’re going to camp! Friday has us seeing double as a sneaky set of identical twins plan to reunite their estranged parents in “The Parent Trap”. Saturday we get dumped off at fat camp, where everything is fun an games until a diabolical fitness guru takes over in “HeavyWeights” Movies Start at 8:30pm

Step Outside (8/13 – 8/14)

This weekend is full of ups and downs; one minutre we fear for our life from irate bald bears, and the next we’re relaxing and enjoying some amazing kid friendly short films

Friday we fire up the station wagon and head out into “The Great Outdoors” where waterskining (mishaps), wildlife (vicious) and steaks (gigantic) await us. Saturday we’re screening some of the best films from the “San Diego International Children’s Film Festival” so grab the young-un’s and take ‘em to a show made especially with them in mind. World tour (8/6 – 8/7)

This August we reminisce about the summer camps we never went to and roadtrips that we never enjoyed. Sit under the stars by our giant campfire and check out some tales of camp songs, smores, mosquito bites and the occasional undercover princess.

Friday we motor around on our vespa with some incognito royalty during our “Roman Holiday“, but will love get in the way of us revealing some juicy celebrity gossip? Saturday we broaden our horizons and make a bet we can float “Around the World in 80 days“. Movies Start at 8:30pm

Make A Wish (7/30-7/31)

It’s kids choice this weekend when a brother and sister show signs of superpowers and a boy with a magic rock finds out he can’t keep the genie in the bottle. Friday we uncover an interstellar stuffed animal and start moving stuff with our minds in The Last Mimzy”. Saturday we find out wishes aren’t all their cracked up to be as we try and stop the neighbors from swiping our psychadelic rainbow rock in “Shorts”. Movies Start at 8:30pm

Sea & Sky (7/23-7/24)

This weekend we dive to the depths of terror with some killer crabs, then soar into the cosmos in search of intelligent life! Friday takes us fishing for some nuclear crustaceans bent on pinching us to pieces in “Attack of the Crab Monsters” (a 1950’s “so bad it’s good” sci-fi classic). Saturday we turn the alien invasion cliche upside down as a brave astronaut is the space invader on a planet of peaceful extraterrestrials in “Planet 51“. Movies Start at 8:30pm

The screen goes to the robots this weekend as a spikey haired superhero saves the day and an antennae headed gorilla monster falls in love. Friday we bring you the pinnacle of 1950’s monster movie cheesy cinema when a furry “Robot Monster” falls for a farmers daughter. Saturday we learn that even robots can have a heart when a bionic boy fights to save us from ourselves in “AstroBoy”. Movies Start at 8:30pm

Girl Power (7/9 – 7/10)

It’s ladies night(s) at the screen this weekend as we tear up the town with a superhuman ginger kid and fight social injustices with some huge haired highschoolers. Friday we wash ashore with “Pippi Longstocking” and perform some impossible feats, all while trying not to get busted by the adults. Saturday tighten your girdle because we’re going up against the popular girls in the miss teen hairspray pageant (oh yea, and breaking down some color barriers too) in “Hairspray” . Movies Start at 8:30pm

Happy 4th of July! (7/2-7/3)

 Welcome to July! The year is already half over and the weather is warming up. We’re celebrating with some big Summer films from July – September, so we hope to see you at the screen. This weekend we fly the skies in blue/red tights and find out that the “chicken of the sea” may actually be us! Friday head up, up and away with America’s greatest hero, Superman, as we showcase some classic Superman Toons. Saturday, heat up the BBQ and blow up your floaties but stay on land, as a giant shark aquires a taste for summer tourists in “Jaws”. (Note: Jaws is rated PG, but has some intense scenese in it that might scare younger viewers) Movies will be Starting at 8:30pm
