Come Join San Elijo Middle School at a Pizza Nova fundraiser for their Jazz Band!
Only the best and most dedicated band students join The Screaming Eagles JazzBand, because rehearsals are every day before school at 7:10 am. Screaming Eagles Jazz Band only, the Jr. Jazz Band practices are only on Monday and Friday mornings at 7:10am.
The Jazz Performance Band (Gig Band-Screaming Eagles) is an auditions-only group that represents San Elijo Middle School in the community and at competitive festivals. Other students who have at least one year of experience may sit in with the performance group and play on Friday mornings before school, and at the fall, spring, and summer pops concerts. There will be opportunities to challenge into the performance group.
To remain in Jazz Band, students must learn new jazz music promptly, and pass off their 12 scales by the Winter Break. All students in good standing will receive a grade for jazz.

A dancing instructor is kidnapped by pirates, and manages to escape in a charming little Mexican village.
9:30 pm Captain Kidd
Ten years after portraying Capt. William Bligh in Mutiny on the Bounty, Charles Laughton plays another infamous real-life tyrant of the sea here. In 1699, Captain Kidd (Laughton) dupes King William III into letting him escort treasure-laden ships around Madagascar with his crew of cutthroats in the wait. Pirate movie veterans Randolph Scott, John Carradine and Gilbert Roland co-star. Werner Janssen’s score received an Oscar nomination.
8:00 pm Wake of the Bounty
Errol Flynn made his screen debut in this Australian feature which blends drama with documentary as it explores the infamous story of the H.M.S. Bounty. Staged sequences re-enact the final voyage of theBounty as angry sailors, led by Fletcher Christian (Flynn), rise up against brutal Captain Bligh (Mayne Lynton), expelling the captain from the ship and eventually settling on Pitcairn Island, near Tahiti. In addition, documentary footage visits Pitcairn Island in 1933, offering a look at the place where Christian and his men took shelter and visiting with several islanders who are descendants of theBounty‘s crew members.
9:30 pm Beneath the 12 Mile Reef
In the first underwater adventure shot in CinemaScope, competing boat crews dive for valuable sponges off the coast of Key West, Florida. Soon, a feud arises between the Greek Petrakis family, led by Mike Petrakis (Gilbert Roland), and a WASP team of divers led by Thomas Rhys (Richard Boone). The feud only intensifies when the Petrakis son (Robert Wagner) falls for the Rhys daughter (Terry Moore).
8:00 pm Murder on the High Seas
When a conniving femme fatale sues her wealthy, married lover, she discovers that another ex-boyfriend has escaped from prison. She flees on an ocean liner, only to have both the convict and the son of the disgraced millionaire follow her. Before long, passions spill over into violence aboard the vessel. Robert F. Hill directs this early “talkie” that stars Natalie Moorhead, Jack Mulhall, Clara Kimball Young and Edmund Breese.
9:30 pm Hell Ship Mutiny
Upon finding a far-flung South Seas island run by thugs, Capt. Jim Knight (Jon Hall) rounds up the baddies and plans to take them to trial. But en route to the mainland, Knight’s cache of criminals stages an elaborate takeover (led by John Carradine). The dutiful Knight fights valiantly to save his ship, but saving himself is another matter. Watch for Peter Lorre in a brief turn as a corrupt magistrate in this spirited adventure.

8:00 pm Monsoon
At a South Seas club called the Isle of Forgotten Sins, a shocking murder prompts proprietor Marge (Gale Sondergaard), her diver boyfriend (John Carradine) and his sidekick (Frank Fenton) to set sail in search of a sunken treasure of gold worth $3 million. While double-crossing abounds, a massive monsoon looms on the horizon. The romantic adventure also stars Sidney Toler as Krogan, a crafty former captain who also has his eyes on the prize.

Tough-talking streetwalker Sadie Thompson (Joan Crawford) lands on Pago Pago after a cholera epidemic grounds her ship. Meanwhile, a grass-skirted young lady flees an unwelcome wedding on a nearby island. Steve calls her Saturday, but what is he to do with her?
