6:00 pm San Elijo Middle Jazz Band

Come Join San Elijo Middle School at a Pizza Nova fundraiser for their Jazz Band!

Only the best and most dedicated band students join The Screaming Eagles JazzBand, because rehearsals are every day before school at 7:10 am. Screaming Eagles Jazz Band only, the Jr. Jazz Band practices are only on Monday and Friday mornings at 7:10am.

The Jazz Performance Band (Gig Band-Screaming Eagles) is an auditions-only group that represents San Elijo Middle School in the community and at competitive festivals.  Other students who have at least one year of experience may sit in with the performance group and play on Friday mornings before school, and at the fall, spring, and summer pops concerts. There will be opportunities to challenge into the performance group.

To remain in Jazz Band, students must learn new jazz music promptly, and pass off their 12 scales by the Winter Break. All students in good standing will receive a grade for jazz.

Pirate movie veterans Randolph Scott, John Carradine and Gilbert Roland co-star. Werner Janssen’s score received an Oscar nomination.

Errol Flynn made his screen debut in this Australian feature which blends drama with documentary as it explores the infamous story of the H.M.S. Bounty. Staged sequences re-enact the final voyage of theBounty as angry sailors, led by Fletcher Christian (Flynn), rise up against brutal Captain Bligh (Mayne Lynton), expelling the captain from the ship and eventually settling on Pitcairn Island, near Tahiti. In addition, documentary footage visits Pitcairn Island in 1933, offering a look at the place where Christian and his men took shelter and visiting with several islanders who are descendants of theBounty‘s crew members.

In the first underwater adventure shot in CinemaScope, competing boat crews dive for valuable sponges off the coast of Key West, Florida. Soon, a feud arises between the Greek Petrakis family, led by Mike Petrakis (Gilbert Roland), and a WASP team of divers led by Thomas Rhys (Richard Boone). The feud only intensifies when the Petrakis son (Robert Wagner) falls for the Rhys daughter (Terry Moore).

When a conniving femme fatale sues her wealthy, married lover, she discovers that another ex-boyfriend has escaped from prison.
